Our February trip was a quick one: 3 days back in New Orleans to participate in Krewe of Cork. This is the Mardi Gras krewe that Chuck and I have been involved in since 2017. Our first parade wiht them was in 2018 and while we took a break in 2020 and 2021, we’ve been marching around the French Quarter, wine in hand, dressed in costume the rest of the time.
It was really fun being back in town, even for the short time. We were able to go to our favorite wine bar, Pluck, a couple of times and had a fabulous meal at La Boca with our friend, Troy.

Friday was spent at the parade with all of our friends. We started with our check in outside of the Court of Two Sisters before our traditional lunch there. Then we lined up for our parade through the French Quarter that had us laughing and drinking wine along the route.

It ws probably the most crowded I’ve ever seen it thanks to the beautiful weather! People were all along our extended parade route. We finished up at the Royal Sonesta for our normal after party that included dancing, wine and food.
Chuck and I stayed for a bit before walking our friend home and stopping at Pluck for a final glass of wine. The joys of Cork is that it is a day parade and we were in bed by 10pm.
It was a great trip back and the parade was a great day. We didn’t get to see as many people as we had hoped but we have more trips planned later this year.
