When “bad sports” fans attack
Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m a passionate football fan. Actually, it’s more like above-average passion. I’ll admit it. I want my teams to win. Always. However, I’m also realistic and know that some (read: most) years, it’s just not in the cards to win every game. So I appreciate it when my team…

My Katrina Story… and how I fell in love
I’ve often heard that some of the most beautiful things in life happen in some of the worst times. I don’t know if that rings true all of the time, but I know from experience that it happened to me. Since I was a kid, I knew that New Orleans would be my “home”. I…

Just what we needed.
This past weekend, Chuck and I ventures over to Biloxi for the Frampton concert. We’ve both been under a lot of stress at our jobs so decided to make a weekend out of the trip. The concert was amazing and we spent Saturday hanging out. From the sports bar to the pool and finishing out…

Wine club night
My neighbors and I do a wine club where we try out reasonably priced wines and vote on our favorites. It’s not terribly sophisticated but it’s ridiculously fun. We often have great food and Sunday night was no exception. Alaskan salmon on the grill, lamb ribs, two different pasta salads, bread, horseradish cheddar cheese and…

Wine outside.
Our patio and pool deck is closed for repairs and my Sunday got shot to hell due to a last minute request to travel for work. So after taking care of booking flights and packing, the man took me to Bacchanal for some rose and conversation. To say I lucked out is an understatement.

Festin
This year’s edition of JazzFest was awesome. The music was as good as ever and I got to spend a couple of days there with my guy. From No Doubt and Pitbull to Kid Chocolate’s jazz band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, I got to witness an amazing lineup of diverse musicians and share…

When storms hit
Sometimes we get wicked storms in New Orleans. Monday was one of those days and due to that, my busy work say got even crazier. Black skies hovered over the city for an hour or so but end the end I managed to get the media calls returned and finalize the research I was doing…

Sunday in the Park
After 10 straight days of rain, we finally got a day of sun and warm weather. So the morning was spent walking around City Park. Beautiful trees surround the walking path and made the hour spent on the track a perfect start to Sunday. Here’s hoping we get to do it again soon.
