I’ve posted on here a few times about my enjoyment of traveling to Las Vegas. My husband and I go a couple of times a year and we always have great experiences. This past Labor Day, we hit up some faves while also trying out a few new spots.
We started out by staying at the Vdara for a second time. The first time was fine, but this time we really liked the experience a lot better. I’m not sure why it seemed so different but the walkway to the Cosmo was a bonus along with the fact we did a little bigger suite, so we had room to spread out and work for a day without being on top of each other.

Although we did our normal long walks, stopping into some of the bars and restaurants we enjoy, we also had time to try out a new bar off the Strip to watch my Crimson Tide kick off the season with the rest of the Alabama alums. The PKWY Tavern Decatur was a super cool sports bar and if you are looking for a place to watch sports and kick back a little, I highly recommend this place. Plus it was fun watching the Tide roll to win number one along with some new friends.
We also finally got a chance to head to Allegiant Stadium for a football game. We’ve tried to do this a few times but for various reasons, could not make it work. We hit up the USC – LSU game on Sunday evening, which was fun even though the hubby’s team lost.

I was very impressed with the security entrance and the ease of getting into the stadium. The cup holders were a total bonus. The sound wasn’t great, especially in our seats in the upper deck. Plus, the smoke from the fireworks in the team runouts kind of lingered over the field, creating a haze almost the entire game. We definitely were impressed but are still partial to the Superdome.
On Labor Day, we were roaming around and decided to hit up a buffet. Chuck had never done a Vegas buffet so we figured we had to at least once. We decided on Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan and it was absolutely wonderful. I had been there before but forgot how huge it was and how many options there were for both breakfast and brunch. I think we both left sufficiently full and impressed. We definitely were not hungry again until much later in the day on Monday!

Overall, this trip wasn’t too wild since we had some friends there for the game and those plans kind of took up more time than we anticipated. But overall, we still had a good time and enjoyed a couple of hours at the pool, walking around a little and hitting up some of our favorite spots. We already booked our next trip and are deciding on what stops to check out next time.
