Chuck’s arrival to Vegas on the Friday prior to Christmas weekend started our long weekend. After he got settled in the room, we changed, walked around a bit and grabbed a quick drink. Although he was exhausted, he knew he wanted to do the dinner we had planned and get a good night’s sleep.

We made our way over to New York New York to grab a drink before dinner. The bars we tried were pretty packed, so we settled on one that is above the casino floor, grabbed a beer and had a nice conversation with the bartenders. After that, we made our way back downstairs to Gallagher’s Steakhouse.
We had come here on a previous trip after a day of brewery hopping so were looking forward to a nicer dinner with some wine that we could enjoy. We also wanted to see if it was just as good the second time. NOTE: It was fantastic.
I got the fish, he got a steak (duh!), and we ordered a few sides. We sat at a table instead of the bar and really enjoyed the wait staff and the atmosphere in the dining room. I definitely plan for us to come back here!
Las Vegas was colder than it normally is in mid-December, so we ended up walking as much as we could through the casinos and shops while exploring and checking out the holiday decorations. Our favorite was the Bellagio Conservatory. They always do a beautiful job and we love checking it out every trip.

We had some great meals at restaurants we’ve never been to before, as well as checking out some old favorites. But overall, the weekend was just relaxing and chill as we tried to decompress from a long year.
We finished our trip on Monday night with a trek to the Neon Museum. This had long been on our list of places to check out and I’m so glad we went. Although it was still cold out, it was a bit “warmer” than the weekend and we were able to thoroughly enjoy our tour. I highly recommend checking out this place if you are in Las Vegas. The stories from our guide were outstanding and the signs are really interesting to see up close.

Chuck and I look forward to making “December in Vegas” a thing for years to come. It’s not quite as crowded and we are able to relax more since it kicks off the holidays for us.
