High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

A week in Vegas was perfect

Chuck and I took a long overdue week to travel to Las Vegas and man, I’m so glad we did.

After postponing our September trip there due to Hurricane Ida, we were really looking forward to getting away for a bit. Although we both had a little work to do, we were able to still get out and enjoy the things we love about Vegas and find some new things to enjoy.

Our original trip was going to include some friends, but they were unable to make it on our rescheduled dates. So we decided to see what was happening that weekend and lo and behold, a beer festival was going on. So, of course, we had to get tickets and go. I’m so glad I bought them early since it sold out before the date.

From trying out some really great restaurants to hitting a few that we love, we were able to have a great meal every evening. We hit up some cuisines we wouldn’t normally try and loved them all. I’m so glad we made a point to do reservations for dinner every evening rather than wing it. We really had a chance to think about what we wanted for dinner and hit some fantastic places.

The previously mentioned beer festival happened Saturday night and was a lot of fun. Because it focused a lot on local and regional brews, I believe there were only one or two beers we’d even had before. There were so many options that we did not make it to even half of them. But we felt like we got our money’s worth and enjoyed as much of the festival as we could.

Since we knew we had more time in town, we decided to do a brewery tour on Sunday in the Arts District and try the beers we didn’t get to taste at the festival. We had a blast doing tasters at the different breweries and trying out some really cool beers.

There was a lot of walking, a lot of eating and a whole lot of planning our next trip out here. I know Vegas isn’t for everyone but we aren’t those people that party all night and sleep all day. We enjoy walking around, seeing the sights and finding new gems that aren’t the norm for a weekend trip to The Strip.

The planning is in full force and we can’t wait to come back and see even more of the area.
