High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

October 1 — last 1/4 of the year begins

In what has felt like the longest year in history, we have finally made it to October 1. I don’t know why, but it sort of feels like a major accomplishment.

Today marks the final quarter of what has been the weirdest, hardest, strangest and most frustrating year I’ve ever experienced. But, it’s also been a year of enlightenment that has given me new and exciting challenges, better relationships and opened my eyes to what exactly I want to do moving forward.

Instead of New Year’s resolutions, I have made the decision to do a Q4 resolution. So in writing it down, here’s what I landed on what I want to do for the last 3 months of 2020:

  • Take a trip a month, even if they are just short weekends somewhere
  • Work out harder, not necessarily longer
  • Work enough to make money to do the fun things, like travel, that I want to do
  • Take time out to talk to my friends who don’t live in NOLA, via phone or video
  • Take more photos when I’m out and about; I love looking back at what I experience and need to do that more

Overall, I think we could all spend the last 3 months of the year looking for joy, happiness and anything that makes us smile. So whatever we need to do personally to make that happen, I am all for that.

So on day 1 of the last 3 months of 2020, I worked out harder than I did earlier this week, ate something that I enjoyed and was healthy and spent some time outside breathing in the fresh Fall air. What have you done to bring some joy in your life?

The final evening of September
