In between the work hours, which both Chuck and I are extremely grateful to have, we have started making plans for the post-coronavirus days. Some of them are typical like the places we want to travel to, the changes we want to make to our apartment layout, restaurants and bars we absolutely have to hit, and the exercise we plan to do once the gyms open up.
But overall, we’ve been talking about lifestyle changes. We see this pandemic as a wake up call for us. We are starting to prioritize some things that are important, learning to compromise more and talking more seriously about our future.
Our lists include travel we want to do for the rest of 2020 and all of 2021, new furniture that we are looking at buying to change up our space, and an exercise calendar for each month once our stay home order lifts and the gyms and studios open up. We are creating lists for everything we want to do in the next few years.
But it got me thinking. Why didn’t I do this before? Sure, each Jan. 1 since Chuck and I have been together, we’ve listed places we want to travel to and things we want to accomplish over the year. But we don’t stick to it. It’s just more of a talker for us.
So as we try to navigate this new world, I hope this creates habits that stick and also gives us a sense of urgency to not put things off that we are interested in doing and accomplishing now!
