How lucky are we that we get to live in a city that supports local artists and creates venues for these artists to share their work with people like me?
Luna Fete is relatively new to the New Orleans scene, having starting in 2014. But in the few years it’s been running, it gets better and better each year.
This weekend, Chuck and I made our way to Lafayette Square to check out the show. There are 2 different times of unique and interesting light shows broadcast on Gallier Hall. The first, that starts at 6pm, showcases 3 sets of artistry. While the other, starting at 7pm, showcases a different show and group of artists. We were lucky to be able to see them both and they were amazing.
But on top of that, is the walk to Fulton Street that showcases even more artists. I saw some of the coolest things. As someone who has zero artistic talent, I was amazed at what different types of talent and art being displayed.
It is really outstanding that we are allowed to participate in events like this for free. I definitely donate to the cause as a “Thank you” but also to help keep it going. Finally, if you are in New Orleans for Luna Fete next year, you need to make it a priority to check it out!
