I don’t know why but the more Chuck and I go to Vegas, the more fun we have. And this past weekend was the best so far. Getting a free room never hurts and with that savings we were able to enjoy ourselves at some restaurants we’ve been wanting to check out.
As per usual, our days started with long walks and coffee. Throw in a quick breakfast somewhere in between, and we had great mornings. Plus, we get in over 20,000 steps a day because of our long walks in the morning!
We really wanted to splurge a little and plan out our meals a little better so we could get into the restaurants we wanted to try. We went to Robert Irvine’s restaurant at the Flamingo our first night. It was really good and a great dinner to start our long weekend. Throughout the weekend, we were able to eat at both Manzo and La Pizza y La Pasta at Eataly in the Park MGM, Guy Fieri’s at the LINQ (Chuck’s favorite), and a very excellent brunch at Giada, which is my favorite. We also checked out the counter at Eataly for some more pasta and a fantastic sandwich as well as some bar noshes at Beerhaus. Although we didn’t have a bad or even “just ok” meal, my favorite was Manzo. The pasta dish I had may have been one of the best ones I’ve ever had.
In addition to all of the food, we also were able to hit a few cocktail lounges, a couple of his favorite beer bars and I managed to squeeze in a few hours of pool time. The Park MGM’s pool was great; not super loud, not a super party pool (although they do have one on property) and not a lot of kids. Basically my idea of a perfect place to relax, read and get a few rays while slathered in SPF 50.
We also got in an hour of Top Golf. That was a blast and we’ll definitely head there again on our next trip to continue the challenge. Right now, it’s 2-1 in favor of Chuck but I am determined to beat him again!
The highlight of the weekend was going to the Palms to see Lady Antebellum. We bought tickets very last minute and had fantastic seats. What a great show! They sounded amazing but also were so fun with their crowd interaction. I’m so very glad we got to go.
Now, we are back to our “real lives” and working hard. But we are eagerly anticipating our next trip and planning out some of the cool places we want to hit next.

Dinner at Manzo — excellent wine, steak for him and artichoke pasta for me.
