High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

Walking on sunshine

Every day I try to get out and exercise, and living here in New Orleans allows me the opportunity to get outside a lot. And although I have tried to do this in every place I’ve lived, I’ve definitely been more active outdoors the older I’ve gotten.

A day walking outdoors, along the Mississippi River is never a bad thing in my world. There are a few options in New Orleans to do this, but Crescent Park has long been one of my favorite places to go. I really enjoy the peacefulness that comes with being so close to the water. Yes, I am talking about the Mississippi River, with it’s crazy currents, debris and barges zooming up and down the river. I love it.

Plus, the views along the walk are not to be beat. From a beautiful full view of the French Quarter, to the Crescent City Connection in the distance and all of the buildings in the Marigny and Bywater that peek out over the railing lining the railroad tracks, there’s always something to see.

A morning that’s not too hot but is full of blue skies and sunshine invigorates me and I always tend to walk a little faster and a little further. Thanks to being so close to Crescent Park, I have that opportunity whenever I want. And trust me, I take advantage as much as possible.

Do you get out and enjoy the great weather and sights in New Orleans for your exercise?
