Hop Festing on a Saturday

It truly is festival season in New Orleans and on top of the various music and food festivals, several of the local breweries amp up their games in the springtime with anniversary and other festivals related to beer. Courtyard Brewery is one of our favorite breweries in town and do an annual event on 4/20: Hop Fest.

This year, Hop Fest was on Saturday and we decided to get the VIP tickets so we could try a few of the offerings and get in and out before the crowds. It was a great idea as the awesome weather brought people out from all over the city and we were able to try a bunch of different beers with our little tasting cup.

It was fun checking out some of the local offerings but also trying the options from the various breweries who came into town for the festival. I think we definitely got in our $50 worth of beer and I love the mini-tasting cups we got as I got to try some I normally wouldn’t buy myself.

Although I’m not sure how successful the festival was for everyone else, Chuck and I sure had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. And check one more festival off our list.

On to the next ones!
