High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

Strolling with the Krewe

Spring in NOLA is always a good time. It doesn’t matter the day, there is something going on. And this past week provided ample opportunity to get out and get involved.

As part of the Krewe of Cork, we have the opportunity to parade down Royal Street during the Royal Street Stroll. The stroll is part of NOWFE, one of the premier Spring events in New Orleans that is all about food and wine. Royal Street Stroll is a really cool event and gives people an opportunity to check out the art galleries along the route and check out some great wines too.

Working later than planned, I rushed home to change and due to the weather, decided against my toga costume. So I threw on a wine-themed shirt and made my way to the meet up spot. Thank goodness I brought my rain jacket as it rained the entire walk!

After checking in and getting my wristband and wine goblet, I ran out to Royal and met up with the gang. All of our husbands were out of town or working, leaving Eileen, Tricia, Diane and I ready for some girls time, with Dave’s assistance. He’s always a great sport when he’s the only male around and is such a blast.

We strolled up and down Royal and ended up at the Hotel Mazarin for the after party. It was a lot of fun and when they kicked us out at 9pm, we made our way to the Famous Door for some dancing and fun.

Due to the amount of work I had going on, I left around 10:30 but sounds like the whole gang had a great time for a few additional hours. All in all, it was another fun night that I feel like you can only get in New Orleans. On to the next one!
