High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

Last minute travel is kind of fun

We picked up a new client a month or so ago, and have been planning one of their meetings for mid-December. My colleagues have been working on it more than I have so after we got back from NAMD, we did a meeting to go over everything and plan out the communications. Well, imagine their surprise when I pointed out the dates: they weren’t December 13 & 14, as we were planning, but December 1 & 2.

We got it confirmed and realized that it was just over a week away! So we jumped onto different paths to get everything confirmed, including the hotel contract, and planned a very quick trip to New York.

Since we have a conference in Buffalo this coming February, Lindsey and I decided to start there and then head over to the weekend meeting, which is actually in Hoboken, New Jersey. I booked my flight on Monday, flew to Buffalo on Thursday, NYC on Friday and then back home on Sunday, or so I thought.

As it typically happens, our flight on Sunday night was crazy delayed and we were worried it’d get cancelled. Because we were both so fried and exhausted, we ended up rebooking for Monday morning to ensure we wouldn’t be sitting in the airport on a super delay and also that we’d be able to get some rest. So we booked a room near LaGuardia, grabbed some really good dinner, hit a brewery for a beer and were able to sleep before hitting the airport to head home.

All in all, it was a successful trip and we were able to accomplish what we needed for both of our clients.

Never a dull moment in this business and always a bit of adventure!
