Getting a calendar invite for “wine/dinner” at “Surprise” always makes me smile. While Chuck and I have great adventures, we definitely don’t normally schedule a good ole date night. So imagine my surprise when the calendar invite for Saturday night popped up in my Inbox on Thursday.
After a normal Saturday morning and some downtime with some friends, we made our way home to get showered and changed for our night out. Once I figured out what I’d wear, we hit the car and made our way to the Garden District.
Chuck surprised me with a pre-dinner wine tasting at the Tasting Room on Magazine Street. It has long been one of our favorite places in the city and we love the staff there. Afterwards, we walked the block to Gris-Gris, the newest restaurant in the area occupying the old Square Root location.
We lucked out with a pleasant night and the balcony seating was perfect. The menu is fantastic and has some small twists on New Orleans food. Chuck and I were both thrilled with our meal and cannot wait to go back.
The night was a blast and it was fun to put our phones down and chat for a couple of hours. Can’t wait for the next Date Night!!!!
