High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

Relaxing: easier said than done

Summer is supposed to be a time of relaxing, enjoying the sun and having some cold drinks in hand. But I live in New Orleans, so who am I kidding? Summer is CRAZY in all of its glorious ways around here. Between friends in town who I want to see, the various festivals going on or just special events happening at our favorite brewery, the calendar is always double and triple booked during the Summer.

So when I get a little bit to wind down with a book and some pool time, I jump at the chance. And did I ever this weekend!

Our rooftop pool calls my name almost daily. Between the breeze, sometimes slight and sometimes not, and the awesome views, I have high hopes of making it up there a lot more than I do. But I find myself taking advantage of that great space more and more as the weather changes from rainy and cooler Spring to blazing hot Summer.

After the work and life craziness of the past few months, it was nice to have a couple of hours with nothing on the schedule. So I took advantage to chill in the pool loungers and finish the book I’m reading for book club. And I dove in to the book while getting a little Vitamin D.

The schedule is getting crazier but I hope I can carve out more time for this little slice of paradise that happens to be where I live.
