High above the clouds, ready to explore the world

Conference number 1…. and scene

I started my new job at ARB Meetings in late January and went all in on the planning of CFUnited. Some of the things I was tasked to do was very similar to planning coverage of a major news event (Super Bowl, Papal Conclave, etc). Others were new (big budget, to name one). But I’ve spent the last 7 weeks working day and night to make sure that this initial conference is a success.

And just like that, it’s done. From my perspective, it was definitely a success. It’s not without it’s “lessons learned” and small issues here and there, but overall, the conference was great. The ARB team is really good at what we do, and one of the keys in this particular conference was to be flexible. So many things popped up that were unexpected, and we were able to troubleshoot and make things work. From A/V to presentation loading onto brand new computers to last minute food requests that were not expected, we did everything we could to make it easy for all of the attendees.

This trip reminded me of my previous life as a TV producer. We went hard for 3 1/2 days straight between the setup, running the show, checking on speakers and presentations and more. And I’m pooped. So now it’s time to sleep in tomorrow to gear up for a weekend of Hoggy goodness at Hogs for the Cause. More to come from that!!
