One of the joys of living in New Orleans is the availability of really great experiences in a relatively short drive, if you have to drive at all. This past weekend just solidified even more my love of living in the city.
Chuck and I checked out Hot Tin, the new bar in the reopened Pontchartrain Hotel. The views are outstanding but even better is the way the bar is set up. It made me feel like I was drinking there in a different time, a time when women and men dressed to go out. I loved it.
We then stopped at one of our favorite spots, The Tasting Room. Wine, cheese, meats and fresh bread were on the menu and a perfect ending to a random date day.
Sunday found us on the north shore, where we hit the Abita Tap Room. The room is great and while some of the specialty beers were tapped due to the holiday weekend, we still were able to try some new brews and enjoy the people we met at the bar. It will be a place we hit up again.
I’m looking forward to trying out some new spots in the neighborhood.
